Watchdoc Collaboration

Watchdoc Documentary is a production house that has produced documentaries and features in various themes. Apart from producing our own works, we also develop collaboration programs with contributors, content creators, video journalists, or documentary filmmakers, whether based on campus, community, individual (freelance), as well as media and independent production houses.

Through this collaboration program, Watchdoc hopes to promote various issues or themes in documentary films, as well as introduce documentary filmmakers from various regions in Indonesia.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The Collaboration program is prioritized for community activists, students, video journalists (freelance), individuals, and production houses who work independently in documentary film production.
  2. Watchdoc accepts video works (feature/depth reporting) or documentary films from contributors. Both observatory or expository concept (using a narrator/voice over).
  3. The film is not limited to a particular theme or topic.
  4. Watchdoc accepts works that have been or have not been published.
  5. Contributors can also submit new film which still in roughcut editing process.
  6. In certain topics that are considered strong, either in terms of ideas, research, initial fact finding, or certain footage that has been obtained by the contributor, but the contributor does not have the resources to continue the production, Watchdoc can help with the production costs in the early stages.
  7. Contributors and Watchdoc producers will discuss the standards of work that will be accepted. If adjustments or changes are needed, these will be discussed in advance between the contributors and watchdoc producers. Including if it is agreed that changes to the storyline, title, additional shooting, footage, script, music, or editing and graphics will be carried out by the Watchdoc team.
  8. The copyright of eachn film belongs entirely to the contributor. Meanwhile, broadcasting rights for at least 1 year are shared between the contributors and Watchdoc. The broadcasting rights period can be reviewed based on the agreement of the contributor and Watchdoc.
  9. Films previously published on the contributor’s Youtube channel do not need to be taken down.
  10. If the film is of interest to other parties to be acquired or published on other platforms/media, Watchdoc and contributors will discuss a new agreement.
  11. After the broadcast rights expire, the film will be removed from the Watchdoc Documentary channel. The work will be fully returned to the contributor.
  12. If the film is co-produced, then the Copyright can be shared between the contributor and Watchdoc, or according to an agreement to be agreed upon.
  13. Films that have been declared worthy of publication will be published on the Watchdoc Documentary Youtube channel
  14. Watchdoc will publish and promote each collaborative film through the creation of posters and teasers on Watchdoc’s social media.
  15. Published films will be monetized with a 50:50 profit sharing system. Unless Youtube rules do not allow the work to be monetized, or the contributor really wants his work not to be monetized.
  16. If monetized, the Watchdoc staff will regularly provide reports and share ad-sense results, using the Youtube revenue analytic reference from the previous month, not the current month.
  17. Legal responsibility for each film is a shared responsibility between the contributor and Watchdoc. Therefore, the curation, supervision, and editing processes are part of the collective agreement.
