On Wednesday 14 February 2023, Indonesia held simultaneous general elections in all regions of Indonesia and for representatives of Indonesian regions abroad. This general election is the 13th since Indonesia’s independence, and the sixth since the reform era. In the 2024 general election, there will be 820,161 polling stations in 38 provinces throughout Indonesia, 3,059 overseas polling stations, KSK (mobile ballout box) and overseas posts and a budget of 71.3 trillion rupiah, making this election the most expensive in the history of general elections in Indonesia.

Simultaneously, people from cities to villages, from Java to Papua, cast their votes in voting booths to elect the president and members of the people’s representative councils at the central, provincial and district/city levels.
