Description
Two journalists namely Dandhy Laksono and Suparta Arz (Ucok) toured Indonesia without a break, exactly 365 days. With their own capital or from personal savings, they have traveled more than 19 thousand kilometers. Passing through more than 30 cities and 28 provinces, they produced 55 serials and 12 documentaries were produced.
Expedition Indonesia Biru, often shortened to EIB, toured Indonesia with 2 used 2005 motorcycles. With a few adjustments, the vehicle was overhauled at the end of 2014. On January 1, 2015 the journey began. Witnessed by colleagues, family, and fellow journalists, Dandhy and Ucok departed from the Watchdoc office in Bekasi for Baduy, Banten, the first destination of the Expedition. Next to the Kasepuhan Ciptagelar custom in Sukabumi, then to the Samin tribe in the Kendeng mountains in Central Java, Bromo in East Java, Bali, and so on to Sulawesi, Papua, Kalimantan and Sumatra.
This expedition was Dandhy’s dream when he saw and covered Farid Gaban and Ahmad Yunus traveled around Indonesia in 2009 in an expedition, namely Emerald Archipelago Expedition (Zamrud Khatulistiwa). Dandhy then invited Ucok to tour Indonesia. Ucok himself had joined Watchdoc between 2012 and 2013. And on December 31, 2015, they came home with less than 16 terabytes of videos and photos.
In addition to series and documentaries, in late 2020 to early 2021, EIB also presented 5 Behind The Scene series. This series was the summary of stories that were not even recorded by the camera directly. Such as choosing a music theme, managing emotions during an expedition, to choosing a safe resting place for personal and equipment.
