After going through research and production for 2 years, “Tanah Moyangku” a new Watchdoc film production Premiere on 28 November at Asrul Sani Theater, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta.

The Premiere was attended by various people, ambassadors, NGOs, lecturers, university students, and also public. “Tanah Moyangku” is a collaborated film by Watchdoc and the Dutch Researches foundation KITLV.

Tanah Moyangku raises the issues facing the agricultural sectors in Indonesia. In Indonesia, the agrarian sector is among the most disruptive. According to data from the agricultural Reform Consortium (KPA), there were at least 2701 agricultural conflicts in various areas of Indonesia between 2015 and 2022. 1934 people were criminalized out of that total, 814 people were persecuted, 78 people were shot, and 69 people lost their lives.

The Film premiere followed by discussion presenting the speaker Dewi Kartika the Secretary General of KPA, M Isnur the chairman of YLBHI Benaya Harobu a film Videographer. Ward Berenschot KITLV Reseacrer and author presented online during the film discussion.
